Hadi Haidar Awis (Arabic: هادي حيدر; born 19 November 2000), known as Hadi Haidar, is an English-Iraqi professional footballer who plays as a midfielder and defender for Russian club Sokol Moscow.
Club Career
FC Minsk
Hadi played for Belarusian club FC Minsk's academy, joining in 2010 and remaining with the club for 4 years.
Krumkachy Minsk
In 2014, after leaving FC Minsk, Hadi joined Krumkachy Minsk's academy, where he would stay for one season.[2]
FC Torpedo Moscow
After leaving Belarus, Haidar joined Russian club Torpedo Moscow, spending the 2017-18 season there.[3]
Al-Shorta
In January 2020, Hadi joined Iraqi Premier League defending champions Al-Shorta.[4] Awis made several appearances for the club’s reserve team before the season was cut short due to the COVID pandemic. He left the club in the summer of 2020 without making an appearance for the first team.
Sokol Moscow
During the 2020 summer transfer window, transfers to Russian second-division sides FC Chertanovo Moscow and FC Akron Tolyatti both failed before Awis suffered a meniscus injury, keeping him out for 3 months and requiring surgery. On his return from injury, Hadi began training with fourth-tier side Sokol Moscow and was signed to the club in the January 2021 transfer window. He made his debut for the club against Torpedo-M Moscow on 3 February 2021 in the 2021 MFF President’s Cup, coming on in stoppage time. He made his second appearance a week later in Sokol’s match against Rodino-M Moscow, coming on in the 70th minute.
Personal Life
Hadi was born in London, England.
