Hai Robotics Co., Ltd, also known as Hai Robotics, is a warehouse robotics manufacturer founded by Richie Chen in 2016.[3][4] The company specializes in the development of autonomous case-handling robotic (ACR) systems,[5] and is a member of MHI.[6] After its formation, the firm was funded by Sequoia Capital,[7] Walden International,[8] Legend Star,[9] 5Y Capital,[10] and Source Code Capital,[11] among others. The company's robots are powered by Intel chips.[12]
With headquarters in Shenzhen, Hai Robotics established presences in Japan,[13] Singapore, the US,[14] the UK,[15] the Netherlands,[16] and others. In February 2022, the company was included in an analysis published by Frost & Sullivan on the robotics industry.[17] In June of the same year, it received a $100 million investment with a blue-chip US dollar fund as one of the investors.[18]
History[edit]
In 2016, Hai Robotics was established in Shenzhen.[19] Prior to formal establishment, it launched its first ACR system, HaiPick, in 2015.[20] In its early days, it was backed by HKUST professor Li Zexiang.[21]
In 2018, the company's multi-bin robots were put into operation.[22] In September 2021, Hai Robotics secured about $200 million in a Series C funding round.[23]
In January 2022, Hai Robotics opened a demonstration center in Silicon Valley.[24] In February, the firm raised a funding round of about $170 million,[25] bringing its valuation to more than $2 billion.[26]
