Halimah Nuhu Sanda is a Nigerian medical doctor and maternal health advocate. She is founder of Romeo & Zainab Boudib (ROMZAIB) Foundation.

Education[edit]

Halima got her medical degree in 2010 from Lugansk State Medical University. In 2012, she graduated from University of Debrecen with a Masters in Public Health. In 2016, she became a fellow of the United Kingdom’s Royal Society for Public Health.[1]

Medical Career[edit]

She joined Family Health International 360 as a volunteer after graduating in 2010 then became FHI360's clinical service officer. In 2013, she was a national consultant with the Department for International Development under Partnership for Reviving Routine Immunization in Northern Nigeria / Maternal Newborn and Child Health programme (PRRINN/MNCH).[2][1]

She works with the Clinton Health Access Initiative's maternal and newborn health program in Kano,[3] and speaks against sexual and gender-based violence.[4] She is on the governance board of Health Workers’ Fund,[5][6] and serves as the special adviser on health to Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, speaker of the Kaduna assembly, where she speaks on measures in Nigeria to protect against COVID-19.[7]

She is the founder of the Romeo & Zainab Boudib Foundation[8][9][10] which aims to improve access to education and healthcare,[11] and trains people on data science in Nigeria.[12]
