The Hams and Hamstrings 5K is an annual 5K foot-race established in 2012[1] in Colorado, United States. The race organizer says a motivation for creating the event was to avoid needing to go to Minneapolis for an Easter race.[2] The race is held annually on Easter Sunday and claims to be the only 5K race offering hams to every finisher.[3]

Event history[edit]

About 400 people took part in the inaugural event in 2012.[4] The 2012 course was in the Interquest Business Park of Colorado Springs.[5] No race was held in 2013.[6] For 2014 and 2015, the race started and ended at a 7-Eleven.[7] For 2016 and 2017, the race started in the area of Peterson and Dublin.[7][8]

In 2017, RRCA awarded the race the designation of the Colorado Non-Road Race 5K State Championship Event.[9] Also in 2017, the race was listed as an official qualifier of the Bolder Boulder 10K.[10]
