Hannatu Musa Musawa (born 20 September 1980) is a Nigerian politician, solicitor and writer. She hails from Katsina State and is the daughter of the veteran politician late Alhaji Musa Musawa. She was appointed special adviser on Culture and Entertainment Economy to President Bola Tinubu in June 2023.[1][2]
She was appointed as the APC deputy spokesperson for the Tinubu presidential campaign on the 4th of August 2022. She comes from a Muslim family and she is Hausa – Fulani by tribe
Early life and education
Hannatu Musawa graduated with a degree in law from the University of Buckingham, UK. She has a postgraduate master's degree in the Legal aspects of Marine Affairs from the University of Cardiff wales.
She also has a master's degree in Oil & gas from the University of Aberdeen.[3]
Career
Hannatu Musawa is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria; she is also a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, UK. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Hannatu has worked as a litigation lawyer and Legal advisor to a number of private companies; she worked with the law firm of Late Chief Akpamgbo. Hannatu founded the firm Hanney Musawa & Associates.[3]
Politics
Hannatu Musawa has been heavily involved in Politics over the years. She contested for the federal House of Representatives legislative seat in her home state of Katsina. As a political activist, she was once the lawyer on the prosecutors leading team in the 2003 presidential election petition between Buhari and Olusegun Obasanjo.
