Hans Appelqvist

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Hans Appelqvist (born 1977, Höör) is a Swedish composer and musician based in Stockholm, Sweden.

He debuted in 2002 with Tonefilm, an album described as a "film-less soundtrack" reminiscent of DJ Shadow's work.[1]

Bremort (2004), a quasi-radio drama about a fictional Swedish town, blends electronica, sampled atmospheres and dialogues. It won the prize for Best Album in the pop category at Sweden’s National Radio’s music awards, P3 Guld [sv].

Appelqvist also works as composer and sound designer for projects in film, theater, and dance. He has collaborated with Swedish director-animator Niki Lindroth von Bahr on short films such as the award-winning The Burden (2017).

In 2019, Appelqvist was awarded the prize for Best Music at the IDA Documentary Awards for his work on director Marcus Lindeen’s documentary The Raft (sv).[2]
