Hans Han
Hans Han (韩大治), courtesy name Hemu (和穆), is a pianist specializing in the works of Johann Sebastian Bach.[1] He was born in Shanghai and is currently based in Vancouver, Canada.
Early life
Han was born in Shanghai, China, and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. He began studying the piano at the age of five.[1]
During his early training, he developed a strong interest in the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. By the age of ten, Han had completed the study of both volumes of The Well-Tempered Clavier.[2] At eleven, he completed the performance and recording of Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier, Goldberg Variations, and The Art of Fugue.[1][2]
Local reviewers have described Han's playing as precise, contemplative, and structurally clear.[3][who?]
Future performances
In December 2025, Han is scheduled to perform J. S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I at the Chan Shun Concert Hall.[1][2]
