Hans Scharler is an American inventor, entrepreneur, and film producer. Scharler co-founded ioBridge in Gainesville, Florida on June 26, 2008.[5][non-primary source needed] Scharler invented Internet of things technologies which led to several patents[6][non-primary source needed] and citations.[7][non-primary source needed]

While at ioBridge, Hans Scharler created ThingSpeak, an Open Source Internet of things platform.[8][non-primary source needed]

On September 1, 2011, Hans Scharler was named to the Internet of Things Top 100 Thinkers list curated by Postscapes.[9][unreliable source?]

MyToaster[edit]

In 2008, Hans Scharler released MyToaster, a toaster that connects to the Internet and updates its Twitter status with either Toasting or Done Toasting.[10] The toaster connects to the Internet via ioBridge and uses web services from ThingSpeak to interface with the Twitter API.[11][non-primary source needed]

CheerLights[edit]

In 2011, Hans Scharler released CheerLights, a global network of synchronized multicolored lights.[12]
