Happilo is a Bangalore-based D2C healthy snacking brand founded in 2016 by Vikas D Nahar. The brand currently sells Nuts, dried fruits and other popular snacks in the health food categories.[1] As of 2022, Happilo is the current title sponsor of the Rajasthan Royals in the 15th Edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).[2]
Funding
In February 2022, Happilo obtained $25 million (₹186 crores) from the homegrown private equity fund- Motilal Oswal Private Equity (MOPE). According to Vikas Nahar, the CEO of Happilo, this funding will help accelerate their growth plans and scale their business into a category leader within the F&B segment. This investment will be used to expand their product range into other healthy snack categories, acquire synergistic foods, expand their production capacity and improve their distribution network. Prior to this investment, Happilo raised $12 million (₹92 crores) in February 2021 from A91 Partners, an Indian investment company.[3]
Sponsorships
In 2022, Happilo became the title sponsor for Rajasthan Royals, a franchise cricket team based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This sponsorship has resulted in the brand’s logo appearing on the front of the team’s official playing kit for the 15th edition of the 2022 IPL.[2]
In 2021, Happilo became the sponsor for the Haryana Steelers, a professional Kabaddi team for the state of Haryana that competes in the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League.[4]
In December 2021, Happilo partnered with Sahil Sanjay Shelar, a racecar driver for the 12th Edition of the MRF MMSC Volkswagen Polo Championship which was held in Chennai.[5]
