Happy Skyscraper

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

International art project artistically satirical, whose main goal is to entertain people all over the world. It involves taking pictures of the "skyscraper" in public places and publishing them on the internet (e.g. in front of monuments, stadiums, next to a volcano, on the beach and at the airport). The Skyscraper is a glued-together paper cut-out with the logo of the Good Humor Party. People of different nationalities, cultures and religions participate in this project. Its purpose is to represent people who want to bring something surprising into everyday life and like to explore the world.

To date, Happy Skyscraper (Polish: Wesoły Wieżowiec) has been photographed in more than 270 locations, in 52 countries, on 6 continents. The project was initiated and coordinated by the Polish satirist Szczepan Sadurski.

Originating October 10th, 2012 in New York City, photographing "the smallest skyscraper in Manhattan". Although it was supposed to be a one-time spontaneous picture, a few weeks later a skyscraper model anyone can print out and glue appeared online. Since then new people join each day.

An exhibition of the Happy Skyscrapers (photos, drawings, humor artists from different countries) was presented in New Delhi, and in 2013 on the Ustronie Morskie beach a world record was established for the most constructed and photographed Skyscrapers, which stands at 250 'Happy Skyscrapers' to be exact.

Happy Skyscraper is a phenomenon of abstract humor, because many people do not understand the meaning of its existence and the phenomenon with which it travels the world.
