Happy Umbrella was established in 1937 by Sagarmal Chopra in India. The company set up a manufacturing facility in 1988 in Mumbai, India due to rising demand in the Indian market.They set up a sister company called Sagar Sons to increase their trading capacity for umbrellas in the Indian market. Furthermore, in 1992 they wanted to expand into international markets so they setup a factory in Sharjah, UAE with 60 employees.[1]
Modern Day[edit]
In 2000 the organization started manufacturing Promotional (Hat, Golf & Beach) Umbrellas. Their umbrellas are well known in the world for their superior quality which are sold under the brand name 'HAPPY'. In 2009 they constructed their own custom-built factory in Al Jazeera Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
In 2019 they launched a range of innovative umbrellas which included umbrellas with torches, powerbanks and bluetooth speakers.[2]
