Harriet Walker (born 1985) is from in Glasgow, Scotland and she is a journalist and author three books. Her latest book is a novel called The New Girl. Walker writes articles for The Guardian on fashion and culture.[1] She has also penned articles for Vogue magazine, Elle Magazine, and Harper’s magazine Bazaa Magazine.[2]


Career[edit]

Walker was born in Glasgow and grew up in Sheffield.[3] She read English at Trinity College, Cambridge.[4] Walker began her career in journalism as a columnist at The Independent and is the fashion editor at The Times.[5][6][7]

Walker has been a regular contributor to The Guardian, writing on fashion and culture.[1] Walker has also written articles for Vogue magazine, Elle Magazine, and Harper’s magazine Bazaa Magazine.[2]

In 2020 while on maternity leave, walker wrote her first novel: The New Girl. It was published by Ballantine Books in May 2020.[8][9][2] The novel has received praise from many critics including Catherine Steadman, and Clare Mackintosh.[10]
