Harshit Chopra
Harshit Chopra (Harry) (Born 20 April 1987) is an Indo-Canadian digital evangelist and transformation leader based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He founded digital consulting companies CPMAC Inc. (www.cpmac.ca) and Vyuhanu Inc. (www.vyuhanu.com). He is a senior technology advisor to various Canadian Banks, Credit Unions and provincial governments.
Personal Life
Chopra is of Hindu Punjabi Khatri heritage and was born in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, India to Yudhishter Lal Chopra, a banker at Vijaya Bank (now Bank of Baroda), and Poonam Chopra, a housewife. His grandparents moved to India during the partition from Multan and Rawalpindi. Harshit moved to Modinagar at an age of 4 and spent his childhood there in the neighbourhoods of Bank Colony and Govind Puri. He went to Tulsi Ram Maheshwari Public School, Modinagar in Modinagar. Chopra's father was transferred to Shahdara district, Delhi when he was 14 years old, and moved to Noida a year later. Chopra completed his Senior Secondary (12th) from Rockwood School, Sector 33, Noida. He appeared in a small uncredited role in a 2006 Bollywood movie We R Friends[1] which was filmed at Rockwood School. He moved to Greater Noida with his family when he was 16 years old.
Chopra enrolled for Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science at Amity University, Noida and started working as an IT professional as soon as he was 18. Due to lack of attendance, he was not allowed to write his 5th Semester and 6th Semester exams and he decided to drop from the university while he continued working. He enrolled for a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology while working as an IT professional and also earned an MBA. He visited various countries for work and decided to move and settle in Canada in 2018. In Canada, he initially lived in Toronto, Ontario and later moved to Calgary, Alberta.
Career
Harshit has a career spanning two decades; he started his technology career with Wipro, New Delhi and briefly worked for HCL, Noida before joining TELUS International (Formerly Xavient Digital) where he worked for T-Mobile, USA and transitioned technology platform services projects from their offices in Atlanta and Seattle. Chopra later led digital procurement transformation at Barclays and played a pivotal role in digitizing procurement operations of emerging markets and other geographies. He later held leadership roles at SirionLabs and Fidelity International and led digital strategies for the Offices of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Procurement Officer and Vendor Management.
In 2018, he moved to Canada and ventured into entrepreneurship with CPMAC Inc - a boutique digital consulting firm and provided advisory and consulting to one of the largest financial institutions of Canada, Royal Bank of Canada. He later led the cloud strategy for Canada's largest railroad Canadian National Railway and then provided digital advisory services to Government of Manitoba and Government of Alberta. Chopra is now expanding his footprint with Vyuhanu Inc.
His research in digital technology is published at journals, Mukt Shabd Journal[2] and Parishodh Journal[3]. He is an active member of various professional associations, including but not limited to Scrum Alliance[4], PMI, The Open Group, and ISACA etc. and is followed by the digital and tech community on LinkedIn[5]. His work in the tech and digital space is notable and he is highly regarded as one of the senior digital advisors.
