Hasan Askari Mohammed Nazmul Ahasan (HAM Nazmul Ahasan) (born 1956) is a Bangladeshi physician, internist and academic. As of 2019, he is the second governor of the American College of Physicians Bangladesh Chapter.[1] He is past president of the Bangladesh Society of Medicine.[2] He has over 200 publications in national and international journals.[3]
Early life and education[edit]
Ahasan was born in Dhaka in 1956. He completed HSC from Dhaka College. He graduated MBBS in 1982 and FCPS in internal medicine in 1988. He received fellowship from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, UK in 2001. American College of Physicians in 2003 and Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, UK in 2005. He was elected as Master of American College of Physicians in 2016.[1]
Career[edit]
As of 2021, Ahasan is the head of the Department of Medicine at Popular Medical College. He is the former Professor and Head, Department of Medicine, Dhaka Medical College, Former President, Bangladesh Society of Medicine, and BAS- Dr. Sultan Ahmed Choudhury Gold Medal awardee in 2003.[4]
