Haviah Mighty is a Canadian hip-hop artist.

Early life[edit]

She was born in Toronto and raised in Brampton. She started vocal training at age four and comes from a musical family, sometimes collaborating with her siblings.[1]

Career[edit]

Mighty first gained notable attention in 2016 when an International Women's Day cypher put on by TeamBackpack that featured her alongside Keysha Freshh, Lex Leosis, and pHoenix Pagliacci received over 2 million views on Facebook.[2] The attention from this pushed Mighty to release the EP "Flower City"[2] in March of 2017. This attracted the attention of Canadian Music Week, where she played shortly after.[3] "Flower City" was listed by Complex as one of their favourite Canadian releases of the year.[4]

Mighty is also one-fourth of Toronto-based hip-hop collective The Sorority. The group released their debut album "Pledge" in April 2018, accompanied by music videos for singles "SRTY"[5] and "Wildin".[6]

Her song "Vamonos" was featured in Season 3 Episode 5 of HBO series Insecure.[7]

Pretty much the first time anyone is hearing of this song is as it leads us into episode 4. For what it’s worth, that’s a huge accomplishment. The song was produced by Book by the voice you hear is rapper/singer Haviah Mighty hailing from Toronto, Canada.
