Heart Signal (Chinese: 心动的信号) is a Chinese dating reality television show distributed by Tencent Video. It is based on the South Korean reality TV show of the same name.[1] Season 1 of the show aired in 2018, followed by season 2 in 2018, season 3 in 2020,[2] and season 4 in 2021.[3]
Overview[edit]
The reality show follows eight people living together for one month as they get to know each other and go on dates. Every night, each cast member sends an anonymous text message to another cast member to show their romantic interest. However, they are not allowed to directly confess their love. Meanwhile, a panel of celebrities and experts watches the show, analyzing the cast members' actions and trying to predict who will text who.[4][5]
Rules for the Cast[edit]
- the casts must return to their co-living house every night
- the casts are not allowed to reveal their birth year nor occupation before the second day
- the casts are not allowed to directly confess to their love during the stay
- at the end of each day, the casts can only send text one text message to one person of their choice, but not allowed to disclose their identity
- the casts can go out on a date with one person of choice with the following additional rules:
- each female casts will select a location of choice, subsequently the male casts will pick from the selection
- the casts are not allowed to tell anyone about the location they chose or pick
