Helen Morningstar Lamborn was a geologist and paleontologist of the early 20th century, "well known for her work in Ohio paleontology".[2]

Early life[edit]

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 23, 1891. She married her husband, R.E. Lamborn, in 1922. She became a mother of two children, Charles F. Lamborn and Martha E. Lamborn.[3]

Education[edit]

Morningstar attended Ohio State University, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in 1915. In May 1922, she received her PH.D in geology for Bryn Mawr College. She worked from 1917 to 1923 as a Instructor of Geology and Paleontology at Ohio State University. In 1920 she was elected as a Fellow of the Ohio Academy of Science.[3] She became an elected member of the Paleontological Society in 1923.[4] She was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi, and the A.A.A.S.

Death[edit]

Helen Morningstar died of arteriosclerosis and hypertension at Columbus, Ohio on July 31, 1951. She was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. [3]
