Hemant Sharma is a senior journalist, writer and former news director at India TV news channel.[2] Currently He is working as news director at TV9 Bharatvarsh news channel.[3] He is the author of the books Ayodhya ka chashmadeed (Eyewitness to Ayodhya) and Yuddh me Ayodhya (Ayodhya in war).
Early life[edit]
Hemant Sharma was born on 27 September 1962 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. His father Padma Shri awardee, Manu Sharma alias Hanuman Prasad Sharma was a noted Hindi writer, who wrote largest Hindi novel Krishna ki Atmkatha in eight volumes.[4] He was nominated by the Prime Minister as one of navratna for Swachh Bharat Mission.[5] Hemant got his education at Varanasi. He completed his Master of Arts and Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.[6] Hemant Sharma started his career as journalist in 1983 at a very young age.
Career[edit]
Hemant Sharma started his career with Hindi Daily Jansatta, published by Indian Express Limited. His reports on Mahakumbh got published in London Times. Hemant Sharma was working as bureau chief of Jansatta before joining India TV.[7] He joined India TV in 2006 as its news director. However, he left the organisation in 2017. Hemant Sharma launched TV9 Bharatvarsh as its news director in the year 2019.[8]
