Henrybuilt was founded by Scott Hudson in 2001 on Vashon Island, WA.[4][5] The company initially provided interior design spaces, focusing on kitchens,[6] but later moved into furniture.[7] Henrybuilt opened a showroom in Seattle in 2002,[8] later expanding to Mill Valley, Manhattan,[9] and Los Angeles.[10]
Henrybuilt founded two sister companies in 2019: Space Theory,[11] a kitchen company, and Symbolic Frameworks, a software company. Henrybuilt also launched a journal, Untapped, in 2023.[12]
