Heritage (originally titled Godzilla: Heritage) is an independent Godzilla fan film produced by Perception Entertainment, Vintage Reel Productions, and Luna Digital Ltd.[1][2] Heritage was planned as a normal feature-length film.
Later Toho contacted with film producers and presented list of restrictions on how they could proceed with the film. Finally the filmmakers converted film to 25-minute short. The film was released online exclusively to Kickstarter backers on April 10, 2020.
Production[edit]
In 2009 Greg Graves conceived the idea for Godzilla: Heritage. In November 2013 Rashaad Santiago was announced as creature artist.[3] In June 2014 Godzilla suit was revealed. Several days later a first official Kickstarter was launched with a $25,000 goal.[4] On July 17 it was ending with $16,025 raised. A second Kickstarter campaign was launched next day with a $10,000 goal. $19,554 were raised during the campaign. In November 2014 Rashaad Santiago was replaced with Chaz Vance. On May 16, 2015, the teaser trailer was released.
