Hi-Line is an American mobile industrial hardware store operator based in Dallas, Texas. Michael Sheaffer is the current chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.[1]
History[edit]
Hi-Line was founded in 1959 by J.P. Sheaffer.[2][3] It was established in response to a need for improved inventory management and the direct delivery of electrical and mechanical maintenance products.[2][3] The company initially operated from Sheaffer's home in Dallas, with his sons assisting in stocking and loading products into a station wagon for customer deliveries in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.[2][3]
Over the years, Hi-Line has expanded into a nationwide distributor of industrial Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies.[2] The company's business model involves Territory Managers who operate mobile stores stocked with a range of over 100,000 parts.[2] These managers serve various industries, including transportation, aviation, facilities maintenance, aerospace, medical, military, marine, power generation, manufacturing, and heavy equipment.[2]
