Matthew Brown Companies is a Dallas-based venture capital firm. Formed in 2008, Matthew Brown Companies had more than $1 billion in aggregate capital under management. The firm invests across all stages and sectors, including aerospace, artificial intelligence, advanced computing, energy, health and consumer Internet.
History
The firm was organized by Matthew Brown, a billionaire entrepreneur and Texas and Hawaii native, in early 2008 and raised its first fund of $450 million from internal funding in January of 2008.
Matthew is the current Chairman at Energent, L.P., an investment manager focused on climate-aligned investments in renewable generation assets, energy productivity and efficiency businesses, and is the General Partner of Gas Gang Group and Gas Gang Fund IV, L.P., an infrastructure fund that invests in natural gas, power generation, and energy projects in the United States.
