Highguard is a hero shooter by Wildlight Entertainment set for release on January 26, 2026.[1]

Development

Wildlight Entertainment, founded in 2021, is composed of veterans who have worked on games like Apex Legends, Titanfall, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.[1]

Release

Highguard was revealed as the final announcement at the Game Awards in December 2025. Forbes's Paul Tassi reported that Wildlight did not pay for its reveal; the show's producers scheduled it as the final trailer.[2][3] Several journalists found the game's reveal questionable or lackluster, with some viewers expecting an announcement from an established series or different genre,[4][5][6] though others found the trailer intriguing regardless.[7][8][9] Following the announcement, it was noted that advertisement was limited, with a barebones website and no footage other than the trailer on the YouTube channel.[10][11]
