The Historical Writers' Association is a writers' association in the United Kingdom. [1][2][3]

Formed in October 2010 the association contains both historical fiction and non-fiction who have work published by recognised publishers. Membership is limited to authors who have had work published in the last five years.

The Association exists to promote, sustain and raise the profile of historical writing with 'historical' being defined as being beyond 35 years from the point of application for membership. It was launched at the English Heritage Festival of History at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire on 16 July 2011.[4]
