Holly Schapker (born December 19, 1969) is an american painter residing in Cincinnati, Ohio.[1]
Career[edit]
She is an alumnus of Xavier University. She studied under several famous painters including Michael Scott and Cole Carothers. She taught painting at Xavier University, The Baker Hunt Institute, and Uptown Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio.[2][not in citation given] Her works have been the subject of public and private exhibitions and are in the collections of both public and private venues across the United States. She is primarily known for her two dimensional images of religious themes, but has exhibited abstract work and landscape paintings as well.[3] The body of her work inspired by the life and mission of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, titled Adsum, has toured museums and Jesuit institutions across the US, and has been the subject of magazine, newspaper articles, and scholarly works.[4][not in citation given] She has received grants and commissions from churches, schools, and political subdivisions to advance her work. She was recognized as one of Xavier University’s Women of Excellence.[5][not in citation given]
