Homayon Nezami (Persian/Pashto: همایون نظامي, born January 7, 1975) is an Afghan politician, serving as First Secretary at Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in New Delhi, India. Prior to this, he served as Director of Finance Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Afghanistan. Previously, he worked as the Deputy Director in the same department.
His diplomacy has been instrumental in promoting ethnic reconciliation due to his lineage from tribal chieftains with strong Pashtun relationships with all ethnic groups of the country. He is fluent in Pashto, Dari (Persian) and English.
Diplomatic career[edit]
In 2010, he worked as the Head of Finance Section for the Middle East and European countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2007, he served as Second Secretary in Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Mumbai also served as Second Secretary at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Beijing. [1]
Nezami has Bachelor's Degree in Law and Political Science from Kabul University and Master's Degree in Law and Political Science from Sikkim University.
He has also participated in numerous short term courses in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and abroad.
