Ebuka Matthew Igbokwe (born April 29, 1991), known as Hotbillz is a Nigerian Afrobeats performer, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur[1]. He rose to prominence with the release of his Afropop single "Good Life"[2] featuring Nigerian singer, Byno which first achieved viral popularity on the micro-platform app TikTok in early 2020.
Early life and education[edit]
Ebuka Matthew Igbokwe was born in Surulere, Lagos in to the traditional Igbokwe Royal Family from Nnewi South East, Nigeria on April 29, 1991.[3] He began dancing in the church at a young age and continued as he was admitted into Ansar -ud- Deen Grammar School in SuruLere, Lagos. He kept dancing with a group of friends, they called themselves The Don Steppers before he travelled to Malaysia for his University Education in 2013. [4]

2010–2013: The Don Steppers and Dancing[edit]
Igbokwe said he learnt breakdancing from his Secondary school days, from watching seniors in class challenging themselves to a dance-off in the school hall. Then set out with a dance group who performed across Lagos, mostly for free. Shortly, after he decided to return to school and study in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.[5]
2020: Debut singles[edit]
On July 4, 2020, Hotbillz revealed that his debut single is "Good Life". He also stated that he is working on music and an EP[6] after the release of another single titled "Quintessa".[7] On September 18, he released his second single titled "I dey", posting a snippet of it online.[8]
