The Hotel on Rivington is a 20-story luxury hotel on Rivington Street between Ludlow and Essex Street in Downtown Manhattan.[1] The hotel was completed in 2005.[2]
Background[edit]
The owners of the hotel are Paul and Rena Stallings.[3] It was developed in 2003 at a cost of $32 million USD. The hotel offers 108-rooms. The design is glassy minimalist and the hotel offers views of Lower Manhattan. As of 2009, the average room per night was $191.[4]
Starting in 2017, the hotel's bar S’Zen featured rotating artworks, such as by Peter Mars. It is a 40-seat bar located in the second floor of the hotel.[5]
The hotel also Cafe Medi[6] for dinner and late-night music and cocktails at J I A.[5]
Possible sale[edit]
In November 2018, it was reported that the hotel would be purchased by Joshua Kushner and his brother Jared Kushner, the latter of whom is the son-in-law of former U.S. president Donald Trump.[7] The offer was for $65 million USD, However, the Kushners subsequently reneged on their offer.[3][8] In February 2021, the owners where still looking to sell the hotel and asking for $69 million USD.[3]
