The House of Ledi is a Burmese prominent group, well known for its Buddhist philosophy and guidelines. They reached their peak during the World War II when Ledi Sayadaw had the authority to influence Burma.[1]

The house was founded in the 1885 to lead Burmese public during colonial era by Ledi Sayadaw with noble men at that period, Ledi Pandita U Maung Gyi, Ledi U Kaw WiDa, Ledi U Hla Tin.[2] All of the members of house must not kill cattle and eat beef, since Burmese framers depended on them as beasts of burden to maintain their livelihood, that the marketing of beef or human consumption threatened the extinction of buffalo and cattle and that the practice was ecologically unsound. The house subsequently led successful beef boycotts during the colonial era, despite the presence of beef eating among locals and influenced a generation of Burmese nationalists in adopting this stance.[3]
