The House of Pekanbahro, or Wangsa Pekanbahro (Jawi: واڠسا ڤكنباروأۑ) was a noble family in Brunei that was founded by Muhammad Panka Alam I in 2009.
Etymology
The words "pekan" (market) and "bahro" (new) in the Malay for "new market" are the source of the names Pekanbahru, Pekanbahro and Pekan Bahru.
Pekanbaru is used to be known as "new market" because back then Pekanbaru was a huge market which is known among the surrounding areas.
