Hugo Pingray is a French investor[1] and pro-amateur poker player.[1][2]
Early life and education[edit]
Pingray was born in Martinique.[1] He studied at IESEG School of Management[1] and holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management[3] from Vatel Business School.[1]
Later business positions[edit]
Pingray is the founder and Chief Investment Officer[4] inoff flexible and structured alternative finance for Alpha Blue Ocean;[1][5] where he has deployed between 200 million and 1,5 billion euros worldwide[1][5] with emphasis on emerging markets such as the Middle East and Africa[1] but also recently reaching out to North America and Asia.[5]
Before co-founding ABO, Pingray co-founded Bracknor Investment Group.[1]
Before that he was an investment analyst at a London-based investment firm.[1]

Pingray won his first bracelet in the World Series of Poker Deepstack Championship ($1,500 No-Limit Hold'em - Monster Stack (Event #51))[6] earning himself $1,327,083.[2][3][7]
EPT[edit]
In 2022, at the EPT Monte Carlo, Pingray finished 5th for $240,334;[2] in a final table that is most known for Pingray's successful bluff with a medium suited connector (9-high) forcing a fold from his opponent holding a set of aces.[8]
Style[edit]
Pingray is adhering to the new-school of poker players taking little to none positional consideration when putting in bets before the flop.[1]

As of May 2024, Pingray's total live tournament winnings exceeds $1,750,000.[2]
