History[edit]
Former Projects[edit]
Whilst 'Hush Puppy', only receiving viable notability for the first time in 2021 - Group's rhythmic-guitarist/backing-vocalist, Sam Mangione, previously received national recognition for former (also Perth-based) project, 'Homebrand'[8]. Composing the act's releases; "Picket Fence"[9][10] and WAM, Song of The Year nominated[11] piece, "Blue"[12]. While performing with the fit from, 2014-2019[13].
Shows of Significance[edit]
Debut Performance[edit]
Hush Puppy's first live-performance was scheduled to take place within their desired venue's (Perth-based, Rosemount Hotel), general-admission/'pub' section in late-July, 2021. Due to exhausting the allocated area's capacity (via digital ticket pre-sales), a capacity upgrade was required in order to further accommodate later ticket-holders. Being granted eventually by the venue's manager - allowing the act to host the performance in the larger, 'main-stage' area/section of the same venue (traditionally reserved for touring-acts), at a later date. The act exhausted the newly allocated space yet-again, only shortly after announcing the re-availability of tickets, via various social media platforms[14].
The event appearing seemingly proficient at launching the group's newly-found musical career, as well as it's accompanying debut single, "Too Cold"[15]. Evident from the surge in the band's digital presence in the weeks following the performance[16]. Consequently, pushing "Too Cold" into national radio station, Triple J's Unearthed 'most-played' charts, week-of[17].
Supporting 'End Of Fashion'[edit]
Hush Puppy supports End Of Fashion on the Margaret River stop of their "Ruby Lips" tour. Allowing opportunity for its members to converse with experienced industry professionals. Including, Justin Burford; End Of Fashion's front-man[18]. The performance took place in WA's South-West region, early-September of 2021, the band's first outside of Perth's metropolitan area.
