Hydra-Shield Manufacturing is an American company that manufactures hydrant security products on the market for the city, state, federal government, and military. Focuses on securing fire hydrants against water theft and helping firefighters connect hoses quickly in a range of settings.
Overview[edit]
Hydra-Shield Manufacturing was founded in 1979, and incorporated in Texas in 1986, by Henry J. Stehling, a retired Brigadier General. Ownership was transferred to his three children, after his death in 2001, and continues to be a veteran and woman-owned company, since two of the shareholders are women. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Hydra-Shield has been protecting America's water. Its security systems for hydrants, meters, and valves are used in many major cities. The hydrant locks can be designed to fit virtually any make or model of the hydrant.[1]
