Lyrics[edit]

Portuguese lyrics English translation
Como criança tu foste esperada

Desabrochaste qual flor em botão

Maioridade por lei outorgada

E desse povo a consagração.

Hoje cantamos Ipê tuas vitórias

E prometemos de unidos lutar

Nossa bandeira terá novas glórias

Que nosso filhos virão a cantar.

De Formigueiro tu foste chamada

Tempos passados sinal de labor

Hoje o povo em suas mãos calejadas

Ergue as conquistas que faz com ardor.

As a child, you were awaited

Blossoming like a flower in bud

Legally bestowed with adulthood

And the consecration of this people.

Today, we sing, Ipê, your victories

And promise to fight united

Our flag will have new glories

That our children will come to sing.

You were once called Formigueiro

A sign of labor in times gone by

Today, the people with calloused hands

Raise the achievements made with fervor.
