Hysteria 51 is a weekly audio podcast presented by ForthHand Media. The show examines a different topic each week involving the paranormal, conspiracy theories, mysteries, the unusual, and the unexplained. It is hosted by Brent Hand, John Goforth, and Conspiracy Bot (an angry, yet fictional robot bent on world domination). Hysteria 51 has been nominated for several awards including The Podcast Awards, Discover Pods People’s Choice, and a 2019 Webby Honoree. Also, in 2018 UPROXX[1] and POPSUGAR[2] both picked Hysteria 51 as one of the top ten conspiracy-theory podcasts in the field.
History[edit]
Hysteria 51 was founded by Brent Hand and John Goforth in what they jokingly refer to as the "lower 4th dimension" (otherwise known as Chicago) in 2016. The first episode was released on September 20, 2016, and featured the topic of Operation Highjump. Within weeks of the show launching it was ranked at 64th in the world on iTunes charts.[3] In November 2018, Hysteria 51 joined the HowStuffWorks Network, which is now part of IHeartMedia. The show covers an extensive array of topics in the ‘world of the weird’. They include, but aren’t limited to Alien abduction, Assassinations, Zombies, Bob Lazar, Weather modification, Bigfoot and other cryptids, Jonestown, hauntings, Atlantis, Flat Earth, Hollow Earth, Satanism, the Roswell UFO incident, Ed and Lorraine Warren, and many more. Hysteria 51 also routinely interviews authors, investigators, and industry professionals who research Paranormal, fringe, and Fortean topics.
In the Media[edit]
Hysteria 51 has been featured in HuffPost,[4] Podcast Movement, and Discover Pods[5] as well as being picked by PopSugar and Uproxx as one of the best conspiracy-theory podcasts in the field. Brent Hand and John Goforth have been interviewed for feature stories by The State Journal-Register,[6] Suburban Life Media,[7] and The Podcast Business Journal.[8] Also, their research into Die Glocke has been referenced in many articles.[9][10][11]
