ICSI, Science in Theatre

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

ICSI, Science in Theatre is the theatrical performance of Carl Djerassi´s play ICSI. It was written in 2002 as a pedagogic wordplay for two voices and published in 2008 as a tandem with Taboos in his book Sex in the age of technological reproduction.[1] Both plays were translated to Spanish in 2012 by Dr Àgata Baizán and published in 2014 in the book Science in Theatre (Mexico).[2]

These plays are part of the saga of fictional books about the ICSI fertilization technique written by Djerassi.

The Spanish version was taken to theatres, universities and Biotechnology Congresses by Dr Àgata Baizán and Alberto Diaz[3] first in Argentina and then in Spain. It was also portrayed as classroom workshop with students in USA, Spain, Germany and many other countries. Its format allows to represent and discuss it after in debates about fertilization techniques as ICSI (Intra Citoplasmatic Sperm Injection) and ethics in Biotechnology.[4]
