Name[edit]

In February 1993 Marc Andreessen proposed the introduction of the “IMG” tag for HTML in an email thread Andreessen wrote: "I’d like to propose a new, optional HTML tag: IMG. Required argument is SRC="url".[9]

The service has a fairly strict moderation system for content uploaded by users. However, the site is still under fire for its 2014 story, when two people were arrested for posting sexually explicit photographs.[12]

Also 8 July 2021 RKN (Roskomnadzor) blocked access to iMGSRC.RU in Russia.

One month later, 9 August 2021, Roskomnadzor unblocked iMGSRC.RU.
