IP Infusion is a network operating system company which designs carrier-grade independent network operating systems (NOS) on white box network switches and virtualized control plane delivering SDN enabled disaggregated networks, traditional L2/L3 solutions and virtualized network functions (VNF) including virtual routing[1] for enterprise, data center and service providers. IP Infusion’s co-founder Kunihiro Ishiguro developed and contributed Zebra routing software package to opensource community that provides routing services with routing protocols support such as RIP, OSPF and BGP[2]. Zebra routing package was distributed under GNU license. It is forked to Quagga[3] and later to FRR [4] in 2017.

Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, USA, IP Infusion’s white box and network virtualization software is based on the open source Zebra routing software which was developed by IP Infusion in the late 1990s.

Background[edit]

IP Infusion was founded in 1999 by Kunihuro Ishiguro and Yoshinari Yoshikawa to provide commercial-grade, hardware-independent network software for IPv4 and IPv6. IP Infusion was acquired by ACCESS Company Ltd in 2006.

In 2015, Dell networking enterprise solutions partners with IP Infusion.[5]

In November 2017, The London Internet Exchange (LINX) deploys IP Infusion’s OcNOS™ Network Operating System in New London Interconnect Platform (LON2)[6] building world’s first disaggregated network using EVPN technology.[7]

In 2018, IP Infusion acquired Northforge Innovations, a software consulting and development company.[8]
