IVISYS AB (NASDAQIVISYS) is Scandinavian company providing machine vision system solutions to the manufacturing industry, with headquarters in Hvidovre, Denmark.[5] The listed entity, IVISYS AB, was founded in 2014. IVISYS has registered offices in Hvidovre, Denmark[6] and Alnarp, Sweden.[7]

The company has registered patents regarding ‘Method and Device for Finding Nearest Neighbor'[8] and ‘Method and Device for Parallel Processing of Images’,[9] in both cases the inventor is IVISYS' co-founder and chief technology officer Moatasem Chehaiber. The patents are utilized in algorithms powering the company’s vision systems for high-speed image processing.[10]

History[edit]

IVISYS originates from a now dormant company called Concurrent Vision founded in 2011. In 2013, the two founders of IVISYS, Moatasem Chehaiber and Jakob Kesje, together with the science park DTU Scion and the venture fund SEED Capital formed IVISYS ApS. Right from the beginning the objective was to deliver vision systems for manufacturing processes.[11] In 2014, the Swedish entity IVISYS AB was formed.[12]

Initial public offering in 2015[edit]

In 2015, IVISYS became a publicly listed company, the initial public offering took place in early 2015. The founders Jakob Kesje and Moatasem Chehaiber wanted to raise capital in order to grow the company.[13] Despite of the fact that the company's main activities are located in Denmark, the founders chose to list the company in Sweden.[14] The choice of listing on the Nasdaq First North stock exchange in Stockholm, and not on the stock exchange in Copenhagen, drew quite a lot of media attention, since it highlighted the lack of opportunities for Danish SMEs to access capital markets,[15][16][17][18] and this was seen as a part of a trend.[19][20]
