Iago Stanback (born February 17, 2005) is a Portuguese American college Basketball player for the Missouri State Bears.[1]

High School Career

Junior year

Stanback was a varsity starter at Palmetto Ridge High School as a junior, averaging 18.3 points with 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Portuguese National Team

During the summer, Stanback had the opportunity to play for the Portuguese National Team in the FIBA U18 European Championships.[2]

Senior year

Stanback was named Palmetto Ridge High School Player of the Year as a senior in 2022-23 after averaging 20.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.8 blocks per game for a 22-4 record. Stanback lead his team to a district title and 6A state tournament appearance his senior year (2022–23) while earning all-state and all-region honors at the Southwest Florida Sports Awards Show and breaking the county scoring record [3]

National Team

Stanback was a part of Portugal's 18U European Championship Team in the summer of 2023. Stanback played in every game averaging 11 minutes, 2.1 points.[4] for a 4-3 record. Stanback notably scored 7 points against Switzerland (7/29/23).[5]

College career

Stanback was named MVP on December 7 with 21 points and December 8th with 35 points.[6]
