Projects
"venice" programming language
On September 2, 2021, Ian wrote a blog post titled "Why I am writing a new programming language"[2]. Ian says that his intentions were to mix the pre-existing programming languages of Python and Rust. Venice was published on September 5 to GitHub.[3]
City-naming quizzes
It isn't exactly known when the city-naming quizzes were made, but Ian first mentioned them on his blog on September 14, 2020 in an article named "The technology behind a web app with 200,000 monthly visits".[4] The first save is recorded to have been saved on September 30, 2019, however it is unknown whether this is correct or not.[5] Also according to this save, the first city ever named on the website is Carlsbad, California. The series of quizzes then branched out to the likes of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and the World. The quizzes have amassed a large amount of popularity, gaining a Reddit, Discord, and a YouTube following. The quizzes have since been moved to cityquiz.io[1], making the transfer over in early November 2022.
