The Idaho Blizzards are a professional ice hockey team based in Boise. The Blizzards compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference.
In December 2018, the NHL approved a proposal by Idaho Hockey Partners to grant an expansion franchise to the state of Idaho. In April 2024, the Blizzards' name and branding were revealed. The Blizzards finished their inaugural season within fourth place inside their division, earning the last spot in the playoffs from the Seattle Krakens. They defeated the defending champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, in the opening round before losing to the Calgary Flames within the second round.
