Iga Karst (born 9 September 1985) is an author of crime fiction, thrillers and romance novels.

Biography[edit]

Iga was born in Wroclaw, Poland.[1] [2] She graduated from the University of Lower Silesia with a master's degree in Communication studies (public relations, corporate identity, communication design).[3] [4]

Karst began writing stories as a child. In high school, she was determined to become a novelist.[5] [6] She signed her first publishing contract when she was only 19 years old. When the publisher called her to announce to her that her book was accepted, he was surprised to find out that she was quite young. Her debut novel was published in September 2005.[7] It was released as a part of the well known historical series – Pan Samochodzik – and it was the very first step in her professional career as a writer. [8] In the following years Iga wrote more crime books and thrillers. [9] [10] In 2009, Iga released Magenta, her first romantic suspense novel. Which is a story about an affair between a young woman and a mystery painter. [11] Magenta got rave reviews as it is filled with intriguing characters, emotional complexity and has a unique mood. The book has resonated deeply with both critics and readers.

In 2010, Karst started writing a series of short stories for Motogen. Between 2005 and 2015, Karst published 8 novels. In 2015 she was nominated for The 7 Hopes of Wroclaw Award.[12]

Iga’s ninth book, a crime story The Scent of Truth (Zapach prawdy) was published in 2018.[13]
