Igor Vladimirovich Shekhterman (Russian: Игорь Владимирович Шехтерман, born November 9, 1970, Kaliningrad, RSFSR [1]) – a Russian entrepreneur, top manager. The head of the largest retail company in Russia, X5 Retail Group - Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and Member of the Management Board.
A member of Supervisory work in Alfa Group[2], a member of the Presidium of the Association of Retail Group Company (ACORT; association of the largest Russian retail chains)[3]. Co-founder of RosExpert, a Russian business partner of Korn/Ferry International[4].
He is a citizen of the Russian Federation[1], possesses fluent English[5].
Biography
Igor V. Shekhterman specialized in Accounting and Analysis at the Economic faculty of Kaliningrad Technical Institute[6].
He obtained further education in General Administration and Financial Management at business schools: Institute d’Administration des Enterprises (France, 1994) and Danish Management School (Denmark, 1995)[1][7].
Prior to RosExpert Mr. Shekhterman held a management position with the Russian representative office of Beoluna, a Japanese jewelry manufacturing and sales company.
From 1992 to 1994 he was a financial manager with the Russian representative office of Beoluna, a Japanese jewelry manufacturing and sales company[5][4].
From 1994 to 1996 he was working at «Contact» employment agency[8].
Igor Shekhterman and Sergey Martianov were co-founders of RosExpert (executive search firm) in 1996[9]. In 2005, Shekhterman established an alliance with Korn/Ferry International, which is considered the biggest one in the development area of leadership and talent management[4][10].
In 2013, he actively participated in the transformation processes of X5 Retail Group as the CEO adviser[11] and since June 2013 he was a member of the Supervisory Board and Leader of nominating and compensation Committee[12][13][10].
In September 2015 he was nominated by the Supervisory Board to the position of CEO[11][14] and left the company RosExpert[4][10]. In November 2015, shareholders of X5 Retail Group confirmed Igor Shekhterman’s appointment as Chief-Executive officer up to 2019[13][15].
