Ikikoku (一支国) was an ancient island country in the Wa-koku, described in Chinese historical books[1]. It was located in the Genkai Sea, and the entire island is part of Iki District, Nagasaki Prefecture.[1] In Wajinden, it is referred to as "Idaikoku (一大国)",[1]

In the past, Ikokoku was an important place for trade between Japan and Korea, just like Tsushima Island. The island was already known as "Idaikoku (一大国)" which means "one major country" in historical records. It was said to have bigger fields than Tsukaikoku and a population three times larger. Before the Taika period, the island was mainly ruled by the Iki province and governed by the Ishida and Iki districts under the Ritsuryō legal system. Afterwards, it was officially called the Iki country.[1]

There is a museum dedicated to the country located in nagasaki[2]
