Imperian is a role-playing game, text-based multi-user dungeon (MUD) released on 2003.[1] It is published by Iron Realms Entertainment. Imperian is operated by collecting the revenue through a microtransaction system.

Gameplay[edit]

Players can select one of 3 councils and 2 cities in the game. The selection of the location will also determine the player's circle in the game. There are three circles of knowledge within the world of Imperian; Magick, Anti-Magick, and Demonic. Every profession, city, and council falls into one of those circles. There are conflicts between those circles and wars and PvP events take place based on this conflict in the game. Those circles cannot cross when learning classes. They are incompatible. Thus a player within the Anti-magick circle will be unable to learn or use any class in the demonic or magick circle. Professions in the neutral circle may be learned by anyone, regardless of circle affiliation.

Players collect experience points by fighting monsters and PvP. There are also numerous quests in Imperian that players can receive honours and rewards. Cities and councils are managed by players. So politics are also one of the important RP facts of the game. Citizens can choose their leaders by a democratic voting system. There are also some ministries that are managing cultural affairs, economy, foreign relations in the game.[2]

There are hundreds of areas and thousands of rooms to explore in the fantasy world of Imperian[3]. Players can select 12 available races when they start the game. Each race has unique advantages for the gameplay.[4]
