Imran Sheikh (born 1989 in Karachi, Pakistan) is an American-Pakistani entrepreneur, seasoned product manager and designer.[1] Sheikh has over a decade’s experience as a product manager and has founded startups including Jawoco[2], OneAvenue, and others.

Early life and education[edit]

Sheikh was born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1989. He completed his high school in Karachi, Pakistan. Later he enrolled at the IQRA University where he pursued a course in Business Administration acquiring the degree in 2013. He later pursued graduate studies at Georgia Institute of Technology in Computer Science. He also attended Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.

Career[edit]

Sheikh founded his first technology company when he was 19 years old. He established Jawoco,[3] a social search recommendation engine, and created Xtravo Browser.[4] After Jawoco, Sheikh, in 2013, became the Founder and Head of Product at R9 Irvine, where he worked for two months. In the same year, he also became a Lead Product Designer at Peerlyst. During his year-long tenure at this firm, Sheikh designed a web app prototype that raised over $3M funds from Illuminate & Hummer Winblad Venture Partners.

In 2015, Sheikh co-founded OneAvenue, a platform for content creators to engage and monetize their clients.[5] This startup acquired 100K users in the first six months of inception, reaching over six million users over three years. In the same year, he also became a Senior Product Manager at DwellAware, a data analytics company.

Sheikh became the Director of Product at ShareThis, a data-as-a-service platform, in 2018, where he still working for over three years.

In 2018, Sheikh also became a Strategic Advisor at FoundersPad, a startup fund and mentorship program, where he worked for three years.[6]

In 2021, Sheikh became a Mentor at Plato.[7]

Sheikh actively speaks at various forums such as Usersnap Summit, Latoken, ProductLed Summit, ProductWorld, and Draper University on the topics of technology and entrepreneurial startups.[8][9][10]

Sheikh won an award for Share This ‘Social Blockchain’ application at DeveloperWeek NYC 2019.[citation needed]
