Imran Tareen (Urdu: عمران ترین) is a Pakistani television, radio, theatre, stage, film, actor and compere of Urdu and Pashto Language.[1][2]
Early life and education[edit]
Imran Tareen was Born Imran Akhtar Tareen on 21 December 1978 to an ethnic Pashtun Muslim family of Tareen tribe from Pishin, Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan.[2]
Imran Tareen received a Master's degree in International relations (IR), and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from University of Balochistan, Quetta. He also received Master's diploma in Photography from Balochistan Arts Council, Quetta.[2]
Acting career[edit]
Started showbiz career in 1996 a famous versatile baritone radio voice from Radio Pakistan Quetta as drama artist and compere.[2]
Television debut in (1997) from Urdu drama serial Wapsi produced by Pakistan Television Corporation, Quetta center.[1][2]
Later on made his film debut with movie Abdullah: The Final Witness playing the protagonist as ASP Ali.[3][2]
Film Abdullah: The Final Witness was only feature length film selected for Screening at the Festival de Cannes 2015 from Pakistan at the prestigious 68th annual Cannes Film Festival.[4]
Once again achieved success at the box office, with based on true events Revenge of the Worthless playing antagonist turned protagonist as Janan Khan.[5][2]
Continued doing hard work and noticed, when secured first position in Film Making workshop under American Film Showcase (AFS) on The Art of Cinematic Storytelling by USC School of Cinematic Arts a program of U.S. Embassy State Department supporting partners International Documentary Association (IDA) and Hunerkada College of Visual and Performing Arts at Islamabad and Karachi, teachers were Academy Award winner director Ted Braun and Emmy Award winner Marilyn Agrelo.[6][7][2]
Compere and host[edit]
As compere/host, did more than 100 national and international level shows Live.[1][2] hosted and written shows like Youm-e-Shuhada,[8] FC Balochistan All Pakistan Ramzan T20 Cricket,[9][10] 23 March Quaid-e-Azam Residency with invited dignitaries including Commander Southern Command and XII Corps (Pakistan), Inspectors-General Frontier Corps Balochistan, Governor of Balochistan, Pakistan, Senators of Senate of Pakistan, Ministers of Cabinet of Pakistan, Chief Minister of Balochistan and President Pervez Musharraf's 2002 Pakistani referendum show.[11][12]
