If you have just labeled this page as a potential copyright issue, please follow the instructions for filing at the bottom of the box.
The previous content of this page or section has been identified as posing a potential copyright issue, as a copy or modification of the text from the source(s) below, and is now listed on Wikipedia:Copyright problems(listing):
Unless the copyright status of the text on this page is clarified, the problematic text or the entire page may be deleted one week after the time of its listing.
Temporarily, the original posting is still accessible for viewing in the page history.
To confirm your permission, you can either display a notice to this effect at the site of original publication or send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal letter to the Wikimedia Foundation. These messages must explicitly permit use under CC-BY-SA and the GFDL. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
Note that articles on Wikipedia must be written from a neutral point of view and must be verifiable in published third-party sources; consider whether, copyright issues aside, your text is appropriate for inclusion in Wikipedia.
You can demonstrate that this text is in the public domain, or is already under a license suitable for Wikipedia. Click "Show" to see how.
Otherwise, you may write a new article without copyright-infringing material. Click "Show" to read where and how.
Your rewrite should be placed on this page, where it will be available for an administrator or clerk to review it at the end of the listing period. Follow this link to create the temporary subpage.
Simply modifying copyrighted text is not sufficient to avoid copyright infringement—if the original copyright violation cannot be cleanly removed or the article reverted to a prior version, it is best to write the article from scratch. (See Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing.)
For license compliance, any content used from the original article must be properly attributed; if you use content from the original, please leave a note at the top of your rewrite saying as much. You may duplicate non-infringing text that you had contributed yourself.
It is always a good idea, if rewriting, to identify the point where the copyrighted content was imported to Wikipedia and to check to make sure that the contributor did not add content imported from other sources. When closing investigations, clerks and administrators may find other copyright problems than the one identified. If this material is in the proposed rewrite and cannot be easily removed, the rewrite may not be usable.
Posting copyrighted material without the express permission of the copyright holder is unlawful and against Wikipedia policy.
If you have express permission, this must be verified either by explicit release at the source or by e-mail or letter to the Wikimedia Foundation. See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries.
Policy requires that we block those who repeatedly post copyrighted material without express permission.

India Data Portal (IDP) from the Bharti Institute of Public Policy (BIPP), Indian School of Business (ISB) has been created with an objective to provide open-access data and information on food and agriculture, rural development, and financial inclusion in India. The portal is targeted towards journalists, researchers, students, policy makers, administrators, NGOs, entrepreneurs, and content creators to easily search, visualize and download information and visualizations.
The project was launched in 2019 and the first version of the portal was launched in January 2020. The follow-up updated version 2.0 was launched in August 2020[1]. The portal contains a data repository with processed and well documented public datasets. On 25 September 2020, a first-of-its-kind virtual experience, the first Open Data Conclave (ODC) conceived by the Bharti Institute of Public Policy (BIPP) under its project India Data Portal (IDP) was held online.[2] The conclave brought together experts from multiple fields including government, journalists, academia, researchers, citizens, industry, philanthropic organizations, and data enthusiasts working on various aspects of Open Data in India. The discussions focused on the current scenario and changes needed to boost the open data environment in India and enhance the accessibility of clean data. A total of 36 panelists belonging to top organizations including- Microsoft, Reliance Jio, Skymet; institutions participated.
The portal covers 28 states and 8 Union Territories of India. It includes information on 703 districts in 6 different Indian languages – English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Odiya and Telugu. The IDP is available as a "mobile app" which can be accessed on both Android and iOS versions. The IDP portal has a section on graphic gallery where the users can save representations made by them and furthermore look at visualizations made by other users. There is also a feature under the IndiaPulse@ISB initiative which contains the High Frequency Indicators (HFIs) which are helpful in tracking India’s economy and the impact of COVID19 pandemic. These are time series-based datasets which are collected on a monthly and daily basis and have higher granularity level of states and districts. Users can compare the data among various states and also between districts within a state. It allows comparison of data of the current year with that of the previous year.
Majority of the data comes under the sectors of Food and Agriculture, Rural Development, and Financial Inclusion. The portal also provides information on sub-sectors within these main sectors and information on High-Frequency High-Resolution Indicators (HFIs-HRIs) for tracking Indian economy[3]. India Data Portal as of 2021 has 40 different datasets with 48 types of visualizations – both basic and advanced to support it. The datasets under Food and Agriculture sector range from Agriculture Census, Area Production & Yield, Input Survey (Crop & Non crop), Agriculture Marketing, Cost of Cultivation, Fertilizer Sales and many more.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Some general datasets like Rainfall, Soil[12], Temperature, Groundwater Extraction etc are also included. The portal contains Mission Antyodaya and Socio-Economic Caste Census data under Rural Development sector. Financial Inclusion sector has data from Agriculture Wages, Credit by Bank, Deposits and Investments etc. IndiaPulse@ISB contains HFI datasets which include data on Registration of New Businesses, Registration of New Vehicles, Digital Transactions data, Demand of Labor under MGNREGA, Electricity Supply, Aadhar Transactions, FDI data and GST Collections.[13][14][15]
The Indian School of Business offers free training programs for people who are interested to learn and use the India Data Portal. Workshops are held regularly, upon successful completion of which the participants receive a certificate. These workshops highlight different segments of IDP, including hands-on exercises to utilize diverse datasets to make suitable visualizations. ISB has started a fellowship program for journalists assisting them in writing data enriched media stories with catchy visualizations. Recently ISB has launched an online training course on 'Better Reporting On Food And Agriculture' with an aim to provide an understanding of the broad aspects around the state of agriculture in India, an overview of relevant food and agriculture policies in India, insight on the various initiatives introduced by the government around and supporting the agriculture activities.[16]
