Indica Search is a Dutch developer and marketer of software products for e-discovery, data governance, GDPR, data cleaning, content management, knowledge management and information risk management. Indica Search was founded by Pieter Scherpenhuijsen, Elmar Pigeaud and Pieter Klinkert in 2012[2]. The company is headquartered in Hilversum, Netherlands.
History
In 2012 Indica began providing an Enterprise search solution for all electronically stored office related data called Indica Search.
In 2014 Indica introduced eDiscovery software based on unstructured and structured relationships.
In 2015, the partnership between Indica and KPMG accelerated Indica's growth in the market.[3][4][5]
In 2016 Indica introduced classification techniques that enabled scanning for privacy related data components. This allowed Indica to address GDPR-specific use cases.[6]
In 2017 Indica was recognised by the Financeele Dagblad as a key technology[7] to tackle challenges concerning unstructured data.
In 2018 Indica and BDO announced their partnership to collaborate on fraud-detection use cases[8]. In the beginning of the year, Indica also appeared in publications by KPMG which highlights how technologies such as Indica can revolutionalise the way organisations manage their unstructured data and that it may serve as a replacement for more traditional document management systems.[9][10]
In 2020 Indica merged the reverse full text index with graph db techniques, which serves as the basis for Indica's data governance platform. The technology obtained average user rating of 8.7[11]
